Manchester United are closing in on their first capture ahead of the summer transfer window after beating Chelsea and PSG to the signing of a talented young striker

Manchester United have beaten Paris Saint-Germain and a host of other European clubs to a deal for Enzo Kana-Biyik, with the highly-rated teenage striker putting pen to paper on a long-term contract.

The Red Devils are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer as they seek to overhaul Ruben Amorim's beleaguered squad. More firepower is expected to be on the agenda, too, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both struggling for goals this season.

A host of big names have been linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford - but it now seems as though the club have already bagged a new striker well before the transfer window officially opens.

Kana-Biyik, 18, was courted by a host of top sides including PSG, Chelsea and Monaco. The Le Havre prodigy has agreed to join United, though, and now signed a long-term deal, according to reports in Europe.

It was previously reported that the initial plan for Kana-Biyik will see the forward loaned out to FC Lausanne-Sport - a club owned by INEOS - to gain further senior experience rather than being integrated into Amorim's team immediately.

The player is the son of Andre Kana-Biyik, who earned 80 Cameroon caps in his career, and the brother of Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik.

United have also been working hard behind the scenes on signings who are capable of coming in and making an impact immediately. Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is among those targets and United are thought to be in pole position to sign the Brazilian once the season ends.

The 25-year-old has a £62.5million release clause written into the new contract he signed back in January. He has impressed this season, scoring 15 goals and registering a further six assists to help fire Wolves clear of any relegation trouble.

Manchester United have also been linked with Liam Delap - who is available for just £30m following Ipswich Town's relegation from the Premier League - and Viktor Gyokeres, though the Sporting Lisbon star has recently been tipped to move elsewhere.
