Paul Scholes made the hilarious error of referring to rival broadcaster Sky Sports while doing punditry for BT Sport.
Scholes was working for BT to cover Manchester United's game against Southampton and was asked by presenter Jake Humphrey about how he found out that he first got called up by England.
Scholes responded by saying: 'I can't remember to be honest. I think I probably just read it on Sky Sports.'
The United legend then stopped in his tracks as he quickly realised his mistake and said 'oops'.
Humphrey then intervened by saying, 'Can I just point out it's only because at that time BT Sport didn't exist.'
Scholes then said: 'Exactly. I was going to say that.'
Humphrey was asking Scholes about his England career as Glenn Hoddle was also in the studio.
Hoddle gave Scholes his first England callup in 1997, with the midfielder making his debut against South Africa at Old Trafford.
Scholes made 66 appearances for England, scoring 14 goals.
He announced his retirement from international football relatively early in 2004 as he chose to focus on playing for United and his family life.
