New Barcelona goalkeeper Neto has spoken of his admiration for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with the Brazilian feeling that the German will help him improve his abilities.
Ter Stegen is the undisputed no.1 at Barcelona and the Brazilian is therefore likely to play a bit-part role yet is keen to learn from his new colleague.
"It is a style of play [at Barcelona] where [goalkeepers] must participate far more.
"Goalkeepers are always being looked under a magnifying glass but I am prepared.
"Training with Ter Stegen will make me improve a lot," he told Barcelona's TV channel.
"Playing against Barcelona is always unpredictable and so being on the same team as [Lionel] Messi will be much better," he added.
At 30 years of age, Neto feels he is entering the prime of his career.
"I feel great pride to have this opportunity," said the Brazilian.
"I believe that I am approaching my best period as a person and as a professional. I always dreamed of playing for a club like Barcelona.
"Opportunities do not arrive when you least expect them, but when we are most ready," he added.
Neto mentioned his memories of Barcelona as a kid, many of which featured his compatriots.
"I started watching Barcelona in the days of Ronaldo and Rivaldo.
"I can still remember it as if it were yesterday, watching Ronaldo's famous goal against Compostela at my grandmother's house," Neto said.
