Eintracht Frankfurt have re-signed their former midfielder Sebastian Rode from Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season.
Frankfurt said on Thursday that Rode will join the team for a winter break training camp in Florida from January 4.
He is to stabilize the defensive midfield after a long-term injury for Lucas Torro at Frankfurt who are chasing a European berth.
Rode, 28, played 108 games in all competitions at Frankfurt between 2010 and 2014. He then spent two years at Bayern Munich before joining Dortmund in 2016 - but was not a regular starter at either of the top sides.
"We are convinved that we will further raise the quality of our squad with Sebastian," Frankfurt sports director Fredi Bobic said.
Rode said: "The team is placed well and has lots of ambition in the next six months. Of course I want to contribute."
