Official: Mastantuono handed two-match ban for 'disgraceful' ref outburst

The Competition Committee has banned Franco Mastantuono for two games. The Real Madrid Argentine received a red card against Getafe after telling the referee: "What a f***ing disgrace, what a f***ing disgrace."

Franco Mastantuono emerged as one of the negative figures in the Real Madrid-Getafe clash. The Argentine, after a lacklustre performance, capped his poor showing with a red card following a verbal exchange with the match referee.

The referee's report stated that the former River Plate player addressed Muniz Ruiz, the match official, with the words: "What a f*ing disgrace, what a f*ing disgrace." These comments have now cost him a two-match ban.

The Competition Committee ruled accordingly, deeming Mastantuono's remarks punishable under Article 124 of the regulations, which covers "disrespectful or contemptuous behaviour" towards a referee.

Consequently, Mastantuono will miss Friday's encounter in Vigo and the following week's league fixture against Elche at the Santiago Bernabeu.
