Pogba transfer: Barcelona don't believe deal is dead and want deal done before August 31

Barcelona don't believe the deal to sign Paul Pogba is dead and still want to get it done before the European transfer window shuts on August 31.

The La Liga champions made a sensational offer of £45million plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes for the France international, which was rejected outright by United.

But super agent Mino Raiola was still trying to push through a mega deal for the Frenchman - angering Jose Mourinho.

And sources close to Barcelona revealed they haven't given up just because the Premier League transfer window is shut.

The Nou Camp club believe Pogba still wants to leave Old Trafford due to his lukewarm relationship with Mourinho.

And according to Mundo , they think Raiola will continue to work behind the scenes on a deal.

Both President Bartomeu and Ramon Planes, assistant to Eric Abidal, have a good relationship with him and think he will continue to push for the deal before August 31.

They hope even hope Pogba may take matters into his own hands to push for a deal - but that looks unlikely.

Mourinho is set to go to war with Raiola over the summer of transfer links however.

Pogba has also been linked Juventus, with reports claiming that the player agreed personal terms with both clubs ahead of potential moves.

Agent Raiola is said to have pushed for the deals - and The Times report that Mourinho is not happy about it.

United's power brokers have reportedly been concerned that Raiola is looking for a seismic pay day following Pogba's heroics in the World Cup.

Pogba was not sold by United due to the club's inability to find a replacement.
