Ex-Gunner Robbie Savage stole shirt Henry scored 100th Arsenal goal in

Robbie Savage has revealed he hid from Arsenal's kit man when Thierry Henry asked for the shirt he'd scored his 100th Gunners goal in back.

But, 17 years on, the former Birmingham midfielder has finally offered to return the memento - and he's even framed it.

Savage, speaking on a special edition of BT Sport's Early Kick Off show, admitted: 'I've got a confession to make.

'When I played against the legend that is Thierry Henry for Birmingham, he scored his 100th goal at St Andrew's. After the game I asked to swap shirts with him, I gave him my shirt.

'I don't think he knew he'd scored his 100th goal in an Arsenal shirt. I took the shirt, put it in my bag.

'When he realised, the kit man knocked on our dressing room, and said "Thierry wants his 100th goal in an Arsenal shirt back".

'I hid, snuck out the back door and took it home, and I've got it here. The actual shirt he scored his 100th goal in.'

And after producing the special Henry shirt, which he has the trouble of getting framed, he admitted it was time to return it to its rightful owner, and encouraged the French legend to get in touch.

He said: 'Thierry, I've got the actual shirt you scored your 100th goal for Arsenal in. You can have it back. Wherever you are, I'll send it to you.'

Henry scored twice in a 4-0 win over Birmingham back in January 2003, with his second, which finished off a fine team move, confirming his century of Arsenal goals 20 minutes from time.

The Frenchman is currently managing in Major League Soccer after taking over at Montreal Impact late last year.
