Atletico Madrid started their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Monaco and Rodri shone in his debut in the competition, before defending his teammate Antoine Griezmann by suggesting that the Frenchman does his talking on the pitch.
This defence came after Sergio Ramos was critical of the former Real Sociedad forward's assertions that he should be considered on a level with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Griezmann does his speaking on the pitch, let others say what they want," Rodri explained in his post-match interview.
"He wasn't affected at all by what Ramos said."
The Spanish midfielder has enjoyed a fine start to life in the capital, and is comfortable with the way he is gelling with his teammates.
"Every day I feel better and more in touch with my teammates," he intimated.
"They scored a goal that is unusual for us, and it's not easy to come back like we did.
"However, we had the personality which allowed us to overcome that goal."
Atletico now turn their attention to Saturday's LaLiga Santander match against Getafe.
