Ronald Koeman outlines Dembele “decisions” amid Man Utd transfer interest

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman admitted the club and Ousmane Dembele have “decisions” to make regarding his future.

The Catalan club are reportedly in talks with Manchester United over a loan deal for the winger.

Dembele, 23, has experienced an injury-plagued three years since his big money move to the Nou Camp from Borussia Dortmund.

He again angered his club with a late arrival to training last week and they could now let him head to the Premier League on a temporary basis as they rebuild.

United are believed to be eyeing a move as an alternative to Jadon Sancho as they are unable to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund.

And Koeman hinted that talks may be taking place as he addressed Dembele’s future and insisted he can still count on the winger for the time being.

Asked about Dembele's future, Koeman said: "They are decisions on the part of the club and the player.

"As we have seen, I am going to count on him. He has not played from the beginning because there are more players and Ansu has proven to be very good for this team.

"He was better physically the first weeks. But today he trained well and I'm going to count on him."

United’s Dembele chase comes after club legend Gary Neville branded their summer transfer window “appalling” and insisted they must add three players before the October 5 deadline.

Neville said: “It’s appalling that in this market which is probably the easiest in PL history to get transfers done that United haven’t done more yet!

“They must get Ole a CB , LB and Forward pre deadline! The others are managing to get things over the line why not United!”

Accused of encouraging panic buys, he added: “Panic Buy! They’ve needed these positions filling for 12 months , had a national lockdown to regroup and re-set and ample time to manoeuvre deals to a conclusion.”
