Rubiales: Everything Enrique does is with the Spanish FA's full support

A disappointing day for Spain ended positively with a 1-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales has thrown his full support behind coach Luis Enrique.

The coach made plenty of changes for Sunday's game and it was one of those debutants, Brais Mendez, who scored the game's only goal.

"There is a clear inclusion of a new generation in this team," Rubiales said to TVE.

"The coach has the confidence to bring these players in.

"Everything he does has our maximum support and we are delighted with him."

Spain missed out on progressing to the Final Four of the UEFA Nations League with England's win over Croatia, which in turn sent the World Cup finalists down to League B.

"We would have liked to play in the Final Four," he added.

"But we weren't depending on ourselves and England did their job.

"We remain in our category, which is important."

Speaking specifically about the game against Bosnia, Rubiales focused on the inclusion of youth.

"We saw a team under construction," he said.

"We had young players, there were five or six today.

"We're reliant on the coaching staff and players, who are sensational."

This was the final game of 2018 for Spain, who'll now turn their attention to Euro 2020 qualification.
