England star Raheem Sterling was 'racially abused by a Bulgaria fan at Wembley' during Saturday's 4-0 Euro 2020 qualifying win.

The Evening Standard report that the visiting fan was 'thrown out of the stadium and arrested' for alleged racist abuse towards the Manchester City winger.

Sterling starred for Gareth Southgate's side at the national stadium as he scored one and set up team-mate Harry Kane for another as England eased their opponents aside to take control of their qualifying group.

A spokesperson for the Football Association said. 'An individual seated in the away section was ejected and arrested for discriminatory abuse during the England v Bulgaria match.

'Wembley Stadium operates a zero tolerance policy on anti-social and discriminatory behaviour and anyone found guilty will be ejected and reported to the police.
