Real Madrid are reportedly preparing an eleventh hour bid for Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen, before the European transfer window slams shut.

English teams are unable to conclude any more business after the premature deadline this season, but teams in Spain, Germany and France are still adding to their squads.

Madrid have retained their interest in wantaway star Eriksen and will leave it until the final hours of the window before making a cut-price move, according to the Sun.

Spurs are in a tricky position with Eriksen having only one year remaining on his contract, and the possibility of walking away for nothing at the end of the current campaign.

The north London club therefore find themselves in a situation where they cannot command a huge fee for the 29-year-old, despite him featuring as one of the most dangerous playmakers in European football.

Reports claim Madrid will slap down a 'take it or leave it' offer of £60million before Spurs on the final day of the Spanish window, giving chairman Daniel Levy a final chance to recoup some cash and take at least some profit for Eriksen.
