West Brom still 'not receive £230,000 from Barca for England starlet Barry'

West Bromwich Albion are still waiting for Barcelona to pay up the £230,000 owed for teenage star Louie Barry - and are planning to raise the issue with FIFA.

The 16-year-old striker, who developed his game in West Brom's academy, was signed by the Catalan giants back in the summer after they saw off competition from Paris Saint-Germain.

And despite Barry playing for Barca's youth teams this season, the Baggies have yet to see any of the fixed compensation sum they should have received.

The Birmingham Mail report that West Brom have sent a number of requests demanding Barcelona pay up but haven't heard anything back.

The Championship leaders have been considering their options since September and have now entered talks with world football's governing body in a bid to claim their money.

The £230,000 was meant to be paid in two separate installments but nothing has been received and West Brom are starting to lose patience.

Barry, whose remarkable goal returns for West Brom's youth sides attracted plenty of attention from big clubs, signed a three-year contract with Barcelona in July.

After a delay in completing the necessary paperwork, Barry scored on his youth team debut in a 6-0 win over CD Ebro Under 19s in October.

When he was signed, England Under-17 international Barry became the first English player to be integrated into Barcelona's La Masia academy.

West Brom had offered Barry, from Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham, a three-year contract comprised of a one-year scholarship followed by a two-year professional deal when he turned 17.

However, the lure of playing for Barcelona proved too strong.

Last year he scored 10 goals in five games for England U15s during a tournament in Italy.
