What Liverpool need to do to win Premier League title now after beating Man Utd

Liverpool are 16 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table with a game in hand.

The Reds pressed home their advantage by beating United 2-0 at Anfield today, with goals coming from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

Pep Guardiola's side drew with Crystal Palace on Saturday night meaning they have now amassed 48 points after 23 games.

Third-placed Leicester City have played 23 games and are on 45 points after losing to Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

The maximum number of points City can now achieve is 93 - provided they win all 15 of their remaining matches.

For Leicester, the highest possible amount is now 90 if they win 15 in a row.

Jurgen Klopp's side on the other hand have 16 games left in their season, with a trip to Wolves next up on Thursday evening.

Liverpool could achieve a maximum of 112 points by the end of the season.

However, they know that 94 points is the magic number to win the title at this point in the campaign.

Therefore, the European champions only need to win 10 of their remaining 16 games to win the Premier League, no matter what any other side in the top-flight does.
