Mbappe wanted by Madrid

It has been no secret that Kylian Mbappe wants to join Real Madrid in his career, and that for their part Real Madrid are incredibly keen on signing the Frenchman.

To this end, Real Madrid submitted two official bids for the World Cup winners’ services this summer, but both were rebuffed by Paris Saint Germain, despite the Frenchman now set to leave for free next summer.

Speculation will now certainly continue to spiral about the future of the Parisian, who may change his mind about his future now that Lionel Messi has joined him in France.

Mbappe signing on fee revealed

Were he to depart next summer, it would be a free transfer in name only. According to Spanish outlet El Mundo Deportivo, Mbappe would demand a hefty signing-on fee. This is, of course, common practice when it comes to free transfers.

What is perhaps unprecedented however is the scale of the signing on bonus. As per the report:

“Bonuses, commissions and the rest will take the fee to around 80 million euros”

Were that in transfer fees, it would make Mbappe the joint 20th most expensive transfer ever, even without having to pay a penny to his current club. It would certainly make the Frenchman incredibly rich, and would see him join the club of his dreams.

Is it going to happen, or will there be a last-second u-turn?
