Former Alaves coach Abelardo Fernandez has reportedly paid around 26,000 euros to a network of extortionists.
The 49-year-old acknowledged last March that he was victim of an alleged blackmailing in a case that Levante left-back Tono Garcia was also involved.
According to Las Provincias, Abelardo paid the blackmailers in three instalments of 12,000 euros, 13,500 euros and 450 euros.
The criminals' network uploaded advertisements on the dating website passion.com, where they could use fictional pictures of escorts.
After potential clients got in touch with them, the gang blackmailed the men interested in their fake services by asking them for money.
