'It's not a big deal' - Monchi on Sevilla's nine signings

Monchi has played down Sevilla's busy summer transfer window, insisting that everything is all working out as expected.

The sporting director has signed nine players since returning to his role at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

"It's not a big deal. We're following a line that we've marked out and we're happy," Monchi told Onda Cero.

"There's an idea that it all started a month and a half ago when we started working with [Julen] Lopetegui. We didn't start here.

"We haven't strayed away [from the plans]. There have operations that have come up and others that we're working on.

"My goal is not to stray away from the planning process.

"We're working on profiles. The coach tells us the type of player he wants and we draw up a shortlist of names."

Sergio Reguilon is one of the new signings, arriving on loan from Real Madrid, and Monchi is pleased with the start the left-back has made at Sevilla.

"Real Madrid's strategy will be marked out," Monchi said. "They will be wanting to watch him compete at Sevilla, which is a good strategy for them

"He's performing well for us in pre-season. We'll see what happens in the future."
