Toni Kroos didn't miss the opportunity to put down a detractor on social media when criticism surfaced of his performances for Real Madrid.
One Twitter user took issue with Kroos' playing style, which has brought him so much success over the course of his illustrious career.
"Completely overrated," Twitter user @MinassianArtur wrote. "200 touches of the ball per game, 190 of which go backwards or three to five metres either side. That's why he earns 20 million [euros] a year? He's not a leader, he's a liability."
"We're not underestimating the wage, Artur," Kroos responded. "The rest of right, of course. Merry Christmas."
This wasn't the first time the Real Madrid midfielder has replied to critics on social media, with one Twitter user calling him "overrated" in June.
"Yep, but don't tell anyone," Kroos responded.
