Lamela looking to shine at Sevilla

Erik Lamela is counting down the minutes until he makes his move from Tottenham Hotspur to Sevilla.

Everything has been agreed between the 29-year-old and the Andalusian club following a meeting this week, with Lamela set to sign a three-year deal which will keep him at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan until 2024.

Lamela will head to Sevilla as part of the deal that will see Bryan Gil head the other way to Tottenham in exchange for 25 million euros plus add-ons.

The Argentine winger will join up with Sevilla's pre-season training camp in Portugal when the deal is given the green light.

Lamela himself is keen on a move to Sevilla, having been told about Sevilla's unique ability to turn players' careers around.

Having recently turned 29, and although he's been playing at the top level for over a decade now, Lamela's career has been haltered by injuries. He feels that he still has a lot to give and sees Sevilla as the perfect place to get back to his best.

He'll be met with some familiar faces in Nervion, with fellow Argentines Lucas Ocampos, Papu Gomez and Marcos Acuna already at the club.

With the ability to play out on the right flank, where Suso is usually deployed, as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, Lamela will bring another attacking dynamic to this Sevilla side.

He can drive into space, take a man on and isn't scared to have a shot on goal. His goalscoring ability will be welcome as Julen Lopetegui's side look to add more goals from throughout the team and not just the centre forwards.

This could be a very fruitful deal for both club and player, and Lamela is raring to go.
