On Thursday morning there was a new meeting between La Liga and the AFA (Spanish footballer’s association). AFE president David Aganzo spoke after the meeting.

“Girona vs Barcelona has a 20 per cent chance of being played in Miami. The players are the main actors in this sport, we cannot rule out them going on strike,” said Aganzo.

“With the information we have the players cannot go to the United States.”

The AFE published a statement after the meeting saying the current information from La Liga on the game is not good enough and they want more details.

The AFE believes La Liga’s signed agreement breaks some conditions including rest and kick-off time rules.

They also said that of La Liga’s offer to put on a game in the US for AFE players out of contract, that they have been arranging their own games in other countries and will have their own in America too.

Javier Tebas, meanwhile, insists the game is 90 per cent likely to take place.
