Oscar Mingueza: All the games we have left are finals

He’s becoming a fixture in Ronald Koeman’s plans. Oscar Mingueza is getting more and more minutes under the Dutch coach, in part because of the injuries in defence.

The young Cantera player is doing well and earning his place in the defence of five, but also in a back four.

“We are on a good run and we are keeping a very good attitude,” said Mingueza.

“We knew that today’s game was a final, in fact, all the remaining ones are. Above all, after the extra-time we played against Sevilla in the cup. The minutes and the tiredness add up and you note them, so maybe we made some mistakes, but we had a good game.”

On Ilaix Moriba scoring his first goal for Barca, Mingueza added: “I’m really happy for him, he’s playing really well and brings a lot to us, he’s also training really well.”

Meanwhile his sister debuted for the women’s team against Santa Teresa of Badajoz.

“I’m very happy for her, she deserves it after so many games for Barca B and training sessions with the first team, but I wasn’t able to see the game because I was having a nap,” said Mingueza.
