Real Madrid had a testing start to the season. They kicked off the campaign against a defiant and very stubborn Almeria side. The andalucian outfit mantained their slim advantage for a good 60 minutes before goals from Lucas Vázquez and David Alaba in the final third of the game confirmed Madrid's comeback last weekend. 'Los Blancos' once again showed their remarkable ability to turn a game around from a losing position, even if it was a against the newly promoted side from the south of Spain.
The team having been working hard on the training ground this week in preparation for their game against Celta de Viga this coming saturday. The players won't grace the finely trimmed grass of the new, and quite spectacular Santiago Bernabeú until the third gameweek, given both these first two games are away from home.
As part of their training preparations, the players took part in a customary shooting drill. Players such as Tony Kross, Luka Modric, new signing Antonio Rudiger, Lucas Vasquez, Dani Ceballos and Karim Benzema showed off their phenomenally precise finishing in the drill which took place at the end of the session. The players will hope to replicate that kind of finishing over the course of the season, with a renewed FC Barcelona hot on their heels.
Benzema also showed of some magnificent footwork, as he managed to spectacularly wriggle away from not two, but three players trying to steal the ball off him. The frenchman really is proving to be like a fine wine, he just gets better and better with age.
