Many Real Madrid fans will ask until the end of time just what Sergio Ramos and Marcelo were doing trying to move up the pitch at 2-2 against Barcelona, yet it provided us with a historic image of Lionel Messi celebrating his game-winning goal.
The 2017 Clasico in Madrid was a tight affair, with 2-2 perhaps a fair scoreline, but Messi was to take all three points for the Blaugrana with his injury-time goal on the counter-attack.
That goal put Barcelona back in the hunt for the LaLiga Santander title race, although they couldn't eventually close the three-point gap Los Blancos held after that encounter.
Messi was shown a yellow card for his celebration, but it was an act of defiance, one which resonated the world over.
A New York Times article labelled it a 'solemn, almost religious moment', with the player standing with his arms outstretched, showing himself to the over four hundred million viewers on television.
The actual football behind the moment still talked about to this day was complete nonsense; Real Madrid should never have been caught on the break when holding a 2-2 draw.
Stopping Barcelona getting the three points, which cut the gap to three, was Los Merengues' priority, yet they left so many holes in their defence, it was beyond belief.
"When you reach 2-2, playing with 10 men, you should have a little more sense and be closer together to defend," Zinedine Zidane explained in the aftermath.
"I can't be happy with what's just happened, there was the chance to do something else."
Ironically, when the two teams met in the Supercopa de Espana the season after, Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated a goal against Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the exact same manner.
