Erik Lamela has been photographed arriving at Sevilla's ground for a medical ahead of a deal that will see him leave Tottenham for the LaLiga side, with Spain international Bryan Gil moving the other way.

Spanish website El Desmarque published a video of the Argentine being driven into the club's Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, while newspaper ABC said he has checked into a nearby hotel where the team usually gather before matches.

Reports of a swap deal between Tottenham and Sevilla for Lamela and Spain international Gil have been gathering pace in the last week.

Spurs are set to pay the Spaniards an additional £21 million to get the highly rated 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at LaLiga minnows Eibar, who ended the season relegated.

Both El Desmarque and ABC said the move will be made official on Monday.

Once the move is made official, Lamela will join up with the rest of the Sevilla squad and coach Julen Lopetegui at their pre-season training camp in Lagos, Portugal.

Gil, meanwhile, is at the Tokyo Olympics with Spain and started in his side's 1-0 win over Australia on Sunday.

Lamela, 29, joined Tottenham from Roma in 2013 for a then club record fee of £30million as the north Londoners splashed the £85m they had just received from Real Madrid for Gareth Bale.

But the Argentine has not quite had the impact he or Spurs would have hoped for.

He is set to leave Tottenham after making 257 appearances in all competitions in eight seasons, scoring 37 goals and providing 47 assists.
