All Football Team of the Year 2017 announced: Messi, CR7 & Kane lead attack

Almost 16.2 million votes were cast by 1,473,423 fans in the All Football Team of the Year 2017 poll with players from La Liga dominating the final XI.

A host of stellar names feature in a star-studded All Football Team of the Year 2017. A grand total of 16.2 million votes were cast by fans around the world, who selected their favourite footballers from the past several days. Players from La Liga dominated the final XI, with a total of eight making the team. 

Real Madrid full-back Marcelo received the most votes with over 800,000, with the Brazilian defender one of six players to be chosen from European champions Real Madrid. Aside from eight La Liga players, three other players in the team play in the Premier League.

The line-up is based on a 4-3-3 formation, by far the most popular chosen by fans during the voting process.

DF: Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid & Spain), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid & Spain), Gerard Piqué (Barcelona & Spain), Marcelo (Real Madrid & Brazil); 

MF: Toni Kroos (Real Madrid & Germany), Luka Modrić (Real Madrid & Croatia), Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City & Belgium); 

FW: Lionel Messi (Barcelona & Argentina), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur & England), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid & Portugal).
