Barcelona & Real Madrid are battling for Skriniar, per Spanish reports

Inter defender Milan Skriniar is wanted by both Real Madrid and Barcelona, according to Spanish reports.

Barca are planning a successor to Gerard Pique, and see the 24-year old Slovak as the ideal candidate. Skriniar isn't the first Inter played to be linked with the Catalans as of late, with Lautaro Martinez also thought to be of interest.

The plan would be for Skriniar to play as a reserve to Pique, and eventually take over when the Spaniard's career was winding down, a proposal that the defender isn't enthused about.

Real Madrid meanwhile are also paying attention to Skriniar, and it is thought that if he was to leave Inter, he would prefer to go to the Spanish capital.

Inter for their part would not sell him for anything less than what Manchester United paid Leicester City for defender Harry Maguire last summer, which was around €80m.

Skriniar joined the club from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017.
