Stephan El Shaarawy makes his first Serie A start since returning to Roma and he does it against his old club Genoa, explaining the tactical changes under Paulo Fonseca.
“It’s a tactical system that is similar to what we used in the past, only the two trequartisti are a little more central rather than the wider positions we had before,” El Shaarawy told DAZN of the 3-4-2-1 formation.
“We have players of great quality, so there are no particular problems interchanging positions.”
El Shaarawy started his career at Genoa and was born in the Liguria region.
“Genoa is a game that always stirs up wonderful memories. The club and the city remain part of my life and career, and always will be.”
