Arsenal transfer news as Folarin Balogun answers questions on his future at the Emirates Stadium amid speculation linking him with a summer move away
Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has insisted the decision over his future is out of his hands amid speculation linking him with a move to Inter Milan.
Unfortunately for him, Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are ahead of him in Mikel Arteta's pecking order, leaving his long-term future in north London in limbo. "What I can say is that I definitely won’t go on loan again," he said in June.
"I’m not sure (about) the discussions that are going to take place, I’m not sure what’s going to happen. But I’m just committed to now, I try to stay present. I obviously want to enjoy the moment with my team and my family."
No official offer has been made yet, but it's understood that the Italian side are lining-up a bid in the region of £34.3million ($44.9million). Arsenal, though, are demanding £50million ($65million), football.london.
Balogun is currently away with the Arsenal squad in the United States ahead of their pre-season triple-header against MLS All-Stars, Manchester United and Barcelona. The Hale Ender was quizzed on his future on the back of the growing speculation.
"I obviously went away and the point was to prove I could play first team football," he told reporters in the US. "I feel I was able to do that and show people I can play at that level.
"I think with me coming back it's not really much of a situation where I think I can need to try extra hard to prove something, I think it's a decision that's not really with me. Whatever happens I'm cool with it."
