Milan are reportedly keeping tabs on Sao Paulo midfielder Igor Liziero, PSV full-back Denzel Dumfries and AZ’s Teun Koopmeiners.
After deals for Alexis Saelemaekers and Simon Kjaer, Gazzetta dello Sport is among a handful of outlets that claim Milan are trying to sign Liziero.
The 22-year-old [pictured, second from right] is a central midfielder with an Italian passport, but he has a €50m release clause.
It had been suggested the Rossoneri were considering sending Lucas Paqueta the other way, but the ex-Flamengo man rubbished the idea on social media.
“Every day, [people] say that I’m going to a different club. I have a lot of respect for Sao Paulo, but this news isn’t true guys!!!” he wrote on Instagram.
“Everyone knows that my heart is red and black [referring to Flamengo] I don’t see myself going back to Brazil unless I’m returning to my home.”
Another midfield target is said to be Koopmeiners, with Tuttosport stating Rossoneri scout Hendrik Almstadt has reached out to his agent for more information about a possible transfer.
Like Liziero, he is 22 and plays in the middle of the park, although he is seen as more of an alternative to Dominik Szoboszlai.
Despite his young age and being predominantly a defensive midfielder, he has scored 16 goals this season and is AZ’s captain.
Finally, Saelemakers, Pierre Kalulu and Andrea Conti could face competition at right-back as Calciomercato reports Milan are pressing ahead for Dumfries.
The Netherlands international looks set to leave PSV this summer, owing to their need to balance the books, and the website explains how incoming chief Ralf Rangnick has ‘given his blessing’ to the defender’s arrival.
His name is therefore expected to crop up when agent Mino Raiola discusses Gianluigi Donnarumma’s new contract with Milan, who will try to reduce PSV’s €25m asking price.
