Napoli have reportedly set their sights on Cagliari and Uruguay midfielder Nahitan Nandez, who would accept the move.
Napoli could be in the market for a new defensive midfielder as Allan seems to be on his way out.
With that in mind, Calciomercato.it claims Nandez has emerged as one of Gennaro Gattuso’s ‘objectives’.
The 24-year-old only joined Cagliari from Boca Juniors last summer as a replacement for Nicolo Barella.
He has gone on to post one goal and four assists in 26 games for the Sardinians this season.
Nandez had agreed a new contract with the Rossoblu before the coronavirus lockdown.
However, the website warns even his new €38m release clause may not be enough to keep him where he is.
