Genoa have agreed terms with RB Salsburg for defender Jerome Onguene, claim Sky Sport Italia, on loan with €5m option to buy.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the deal was done today and Onguene is expected in Italy over the next 24 hours for his medical.
The 23-year-old Cameroon international will arrive on loan from RB Salzburg with an option to buy at the end of the season for €5m.
Genoa have been looking for a new centre-back throughout the January transfer window.
Denis Vavro had arrived from Lazio, but the deal was abandoned after his fitness levels caused concern, then there were talks for the return of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Arsenal.
Onguene represents the second big signing for Genoa in January after Kevin Strootman on loan from Olympique Marseille.
