Roma CEO Guido Fienga has thanked Chris Smalling and Davide Zappacosta on behalf of the Giallorossi for their ‘commitment to the club’s project’.
Smalling and Zappacosta arrived on loan from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively last summer.
The English centre-back Smalling established himself in the starting line-up under Paulo Fonseca, but most of Zappacosta’s season in Rome was ruined by a cruciate ligament injury.
The club’s CEO Fienga has left a message on the club’s official website to thank the two players on behalf of the club.
“We would like to thank Chris and Davide for the professionalism shown this season,” Fienga said.
“Both showed their dedication and commitment to the club’s project. They shared with us every moment, both the positive ones and the difficult ones, and immediately showed great attachment to the Giallorossi colours.
“If the conditions are right, we would be honoured to be able to count on them again.”
