Tom Heaton makes decision on Manchester United future, after 37-year-old veteran goalkeeper held crunch talks with Erik ten Hag amid Hull and Luton interest

Tom Heaton has made a decision on his future at Manchester United.

The goalkeeper rejoined United in 2021 but hasn't made a league appearance in the ensuing period, playing once in the Champions League and twice in the Carabao Cup.

Amid interest from Hull City and newly-promoted Premier League side Luton City, Heaton held talks with United manager Erik ten Hag during the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Heaton has decided to stay at United.

The shot-stopper has featured prominently during pre-season and captained United during their 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

37-year-old Heaton, who was previously at United as a youngster, had his contract extended by another year earlier this summer.

Heaton is currently United's second-choice goalkeeper behind new signing Andre Onana after the departure of David de Gea.

Dean Henderson, who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, is expected to leave United before the closure of the transfer window.

United may also look to bring in another goalkeeper after Nathan Bishop joined Sunderland.
