Hellas Verona President Maurizio Setti was reportedly investigated by the Guarda di Finanza for money laundering and embezzlement.

News agency ANSA and Calcio e Finanza report the Guarda di Finanza seized €6.5m from the businessman, stolen from Hellas Verona.

The reports reveal the Public Prosecutor of Bologna has opened an investigation into the businessman for money laundering and embezzlement.

The accusation against Setti is that he subtracted €6.5m from the Gialloblu to avoid the bankruptcy of another club in his possession.

According to the investigation of the Public Prosecutor of Bologna, Setti would have become ‘the protagonist of an ascertained accounting cover-up operation to hide the passage of the incriminated money’.
