Karim Benzema scored Zinedine Zidane's 500th goal in charge of Real Madrid when he converted a penalty in Los Blancos' 2-0 win against Alaves on Friday night.

Marco Asensio added a 501st goal later in Zidane's 207th game in charge, giving him an average of 2.4 goals per game.

As well as five centuries of goals, the French coach has also racked up 10 trophies across his two stints as boss and is close to sealing an 11th in LaLiga Santander.

Benzema scored the first

As well as bringing up No.500, the former Lyon striker also scored Zidane's first goal as Real Madrid coach in his first spell in charge.

That was against Deportivo La Coruna in January 2016, but Gareth Bale, who is now out of the picture with Los Blancos, starred with a hat-trick that day.

Cristiano's fair share

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more goals than anyone else under Zidane at Real Madrid with 112 (22.32 percent).

Behind him, Benzema is second with 74 goals and Bale third with 44.

No escape, especially for Celta

Every team Zidane has faced as Real Madrid boss have conceded a goal to him at some point over the course of his 207-game tenure.

Celta Vigo have fared the worst against Zidane's Los Blancos, conceding 31 goals in 10 meetings, while Manchester City have fared the best, conceding two goals in three games.

Two bicycle kicks

Of the 501-goal total, two have come via two memorable overhead kicks.

Cristiano Ronaldo's against Juventus and Gareth Bale's against Liverpool produced brilliant reactions from their boss.

Penalties

Real Madrid have been awarded 56 penalties with Zidane in the dugout, of which they've missed six - five from Cristiano and one from Sergio Ramos.

Of the 50 that have been scored, Cristiano has netted 16, Ramos 10, Benzema six, Bale two and one each for Isco, Asensio, James Rodriguez and Lucas Vazquez.

Headers

With Zidane in charge, Cristiano has scored more headers than any of his Real Madrid teammates with 20.

After him, Benzema and Ramos have netted 14 headers each, while Lucas is a surprise entry on the list with four headers.

Freekicks

Los Blancos have rarely been successful directly from a freekick under Zidane.

They've scored just 10 of them - six from Cristiano and one each from Ramos, Asensio, James and Nacho.

Since Zidane took charge of his first game as Real Madrid boss, Lionel Messi has scored 26 freekicks for Barcelona.
