Emiliano Sala scored his 13th goal of the season in front of watching Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock on Wednesday.
Nantes striker Sala set his side on their way to a 3-2 win over Marseille by scoring a 30th minute headed equaliser before setting up teammate Abdoulaye Toure to level again at 2-2. Gabriel Boschilia scored a 63rd minute winner for Nantes.
Cardiff City boss Warnock and his trusted assistant Kevin Blackwell were in the crowd and couldn't fail to be impressed as Argentine Sala led his team's fightback with a his well directed header past former Crystal Palace keeper Steve Mandanda before battling away to assist Toure for his goal.
Cardiff weren't alone at the Stade de la Beujoire though with Leicester City, Burnley, West Ham and Everton all represented in the stands.
Nantes value Sala at £25million and have already rebuffed one offer.
They are comfortable with their valuation, knowing how difficult it is to find strikers in the January market and Sala in such rich form. The 28-year-old has impressed with his work ethic as well as his strike rate.
