Havertz could be offered dream Chelsea shirt No. to complete transfer

Chelsea are keen to wrap up a deal for Kai Havertz - and they might be able to hand him his “dream” number after the FA Cup final.

Willian is expected to leave the club after their clash with Arsenal on Saturday as he moves on as his contract expires at Stamford Bridge.

That will free up his No.10 shirt - something Havertz has publicly declared his “dream” to wear as he eyes his next move.

Havertz is expected to follow Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to Chelsea but a deal is not yet done.

And the No.10 shirt could be a sweetener as things fall into place for Frank Lampard’s side.

Speaking to Marca last November, Havertz said: “My dream will always be to wear the No.10 one day at my club.”

Whilst Havertz is reportedly keen to wrap up a move to the Premier League, Bayer Leverkusen have insisted he will see out their Europa League campaign.

Leverkusen's sporting director Rudi Voller has publicly said it's "set in stone" that the he will remain in Germany to see out the campaign.

By the time a deal can be done, Willian is likely to have already left west London and freed up the No.10 shirt.

“I don’t think he’s done a U-turn or any kind of turn,” his agent, Kia Joorabchian, told talkSPORT this week.

“We had two very big offers – one from MLS which required him to move on July 1 – but he’s always been in the same mode, saying, ‘I want to finish the season at Chelsea and the day after the season has finished I will make my decision’.

“He has two concrete offers from Premier League clubs on the table, he has an MLS offer on the table which is very big, and he’s got two other offers in Europe.

“So Willian is in a very good position and he is going to make his decision after the last game of the season.”
