Bayer Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz has hinted that Kai Havertz's proposed move to Chelsea could happen at any time as the Blues hope to wrap up a deal for the midfielder.

The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge following an excellent season at the Bundesliga outfit, which has seen his valuation shoot up to around £80million.

Bosz admits that he already knows where the Germany star wishes to play next season, hinting that a move to Stamford Bridge could come sooner rather than later.

'Yes, I know what he wants to do, but of course I'm not going to give it away, it's up to him,' he told Deutschen Presse-Agentur.

'I couldn't say. Perhaps the crucial call will come today, maybe next week, maybe not at all.'

Havertz has enjoyed an impressive season at Leverkusen which has seen him score 17 goals in 43 games, contributing nine assists in the process.

Although he has two years on his contract remaining he looks likely to leave the club this summer, however Bosz has praised his star man's handling of the public speculation surrounding his future.

'I talk to Kai a lot and try to feel what all this does to him,' he added.

'For example, these daily rumours about transfers. I keep finding that Kai is handling all of this very well. I don't think he will stop playing at 29 [like Andre Schurrle].

Should Havertz complete his move to Chelsea he would join Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech as major summer arrivals.

The Blues will be hoping to build on their success of finishing fourth in the Premier League this term and will be keen to keep strengthening their squad having lost Saturday's FA Cup final against Arsenal.
