Fact is whoever you ask even if it's fans around that era whom I know a couple of from my time at games at Stamford bridge, they'll tell you the same which is that the EPL was completely dominated by 2 or 3 teams which were United, Liverpool and Arsenal lol. We barely ever won the first division back in the day and got relegated to second for a period lol. Our clubs history is not amazing but there was no competition. In the past Newcastle were a bigger club in the EPL than us. Perhaps you're not the one with common knowledge on the matter. Arsenal and United were always the 2 competing teams with Liverpool impressing on a few occasions. You have no knowledge as you don't know how the EPL was actually structured and played. I've seen it through vids of past matches and the quality between teams showed and unfortunately United and Arsenal were leagues above.... the EPL was a farm league before the 90s. That's common knowledge.
