Drug cheats' day out? Banned boxer Amir Khan enjoys a 'good catch-up' with Pogba

Banned British boxer Amir Khan and Paul Pogba have posed for photos in Dubai following a 'catch up', as the football star awaits the outcome of his high-profile doping case.

Juventus midfielder Pogba has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA in August.

Pogba's B-sample also came back positive for the substance which naturally boosts testosterone production.

The 30-year-old, who won the 2018 World Cup with France, is now waiting to find out the sanction that will be handed down.

Mail Sport revealed this week that Pogba has turned to leading sports lawyer Mike Morgan to help formulate his defence.

The standard punishment for such an offence is a four-year ban, which would likely end his career at the top level.

Pogba's camp are expected to argue that the substance was not in his body intentionally.

Former Manchester United midfielder Pogba, who has been looking to keep fit at a home gym as he awaits the verdict of his case, took time out to see Khan in Dubai.

The Briton shared an update on Instagram of him 'chilling' with Pogba in United Arab Emirates.

Khan later shared photos on X, formerly Twitter, posting 'Good catch up with @paulpogba.

The fighter has faced his own doping scandal in the past year, with the 37-year-old handed a two-year ban from boxing in April.

Khan was sanctioned over a failed a drugs test following his fight with Kell Brook two years ago.

A urine sample collected by UK Anti-Doping was found to contain ostarine, a banned bodybuilding drug.

The former light-welterweight world champion accepted the findings but maintained his ingestion was not ‘intentional’.

He pleaded his innocence and insisted he ‘never had or never will cheat’.

Khan had suggested his failed test could have been caused by shaking people's hands after the fight.

His ban was backdated to the time of the provisional suspension in April 2022 - meaning it will expire in April 2024.

Despite retiring in May 2022, Khan told Mail Sport in October that he is in talks over a fight against Manny Pacquiao in Saudi Arabia.
