Italy star Federico Chiesa is being offered to Premier League clubs just two years after helping his country win Euro 2020 at Wembley.

The Juventus forward is available for transfer this summer as the Serie A club try to consolidate their financial position ahead of the new season.

Chiesa earns about £160,000 a week in Turin and was a key man for Italy in 2021, when they beat England on penalties at Wembley to lift the trophy. But has struggled to recapture his best form after suffering a serious knee injury in January 2022, and has had a mixed relationship with Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Under new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus are prepared to sell players like Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic for the right price. Yet they may struggle to get their money back. Chiesa, 25, and the 23-year-old Vlahovic cost a combined £105m when they were signed from Fiorentina.

Vlahovic is thought to have been proposed to both Paris St Germain and Chelsea while Aston Villa were sounded out about Chiesa, though the forward would prefer a club competing in next season’s Champions League. Newcastle would fit the bill but are currently working on a deal to sign Harvey Barnes from Leicester.

Chiesa was one of Europe’s top wide attackers when he damaged knee ligaments and any club signing him would be gambling on him regaining that level. Speaking about the injury recently, he said: ‘It took very little, these are things that happen a thousand times but a fraction of a second is enough. You put your foot down badly and then you are out 6-7 months.’

Juventus will also listen to offers for Paul Pogba. The former Manchester United midfielder has been offering a stunning £86m deal by Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.
