According to the latest news from journalist Samuel Luckhurst, Angus Gunn has become a potential goalkeeper target for Manchester United.
The 30-year-old Gunn left Nottingham Forest after his contract expired. He started in two of Scotland's World Cup group stage matches, against Haiti and Morocco.
Gunn is currently with Scotland at the World Cup. He came through the Manchester City academy, where he trained under Wilcox (now Manchester United's Football Director) when Wilcox was a Manchester City youth coach and later Head of Academy.
He previously played for England U21 and Southampton, where he joined from Manchester City.
Manchester United plans to let Onana and Bayindir leave and is looking for an experienced goalkeeper to strengthen the squad. The former Norwich goalkeeper spent four years at Southampton, his father Bryan's former club, before joining Forest on a one-year deal last summer.
Manchester United is also reportedly monitoring 35-year-old Karl Darlow, whose contract with Leeds United expires next week, with the two parties currently negotiating an extension. Last season, Darlow started 22 games for Leeds United, while Gunn was only the third-choice goalkeeper at Forest, behind Matz Sels and Stefan Ortega, making just one appearance throughout the season.
