Latest Arsenal news includes fan reaction to Folarin Balogun's final goal of a successful loan spell with Reims and what it could mean heading into the summer transfer window
Of the Arsenal players that have been out on loan this season, there's a strong argument to be made that Folarin Balogun has been the biggest success story.
Having netted against Montpellier on the final day of the Ligue 1 campaign on Saturday night thus taking his total to 21 - 22 across all competitions - despite missing out to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe in the Golden Boot race he still managed to outscore Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Such numbers have understandably raised the question with regard to Balogun providing Gunners manager Mikel Arteta with somewhat of a transfer dilemma heading into the summer as Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah could soon have extra competition for the central striker role.
However, with the newly-announced USMNT, fairly, wanting to be the first-choice striker wherever he is next season, as it seems unlikely that will be the case at Arsenal, this summer is shaping up to be the ideal time for the club to cash in with Balogun having two years remaining on his deal.
For example, on Twitter @afcevan said: "21 league goals for 21-year-old Balogun. £40m should be the starting point," @ifiokistired echoed the same view: "Balogun has 21 league goals for Reims, £40m better be the starting point", @Harry23830757 said: "£40m will ease the pain" and @frost_niccur said: "We cash in £40m+ no excuses."
Although, there are some fans that believe Arsenal sporting director Edu Gaspar should demand a lot more than £40m for Balogun, with some amazing theories and swap deals being shared on the social media platform.
@julian_thorsen said: "Bid £90m and Balogun to Napoli and get Oshimen", @iam_philopearl is proposing a "50m" deal, @zelda5_iam said: "£65m", @Madida_DmL said: "£55m should be the starting point", but @tomparrott5 said: "£40m is optimistic I think, I can see us getting £30m for him. A lot of mediocre players score big numbers over there."
One way or another, Balogun's future will be decided this summer. Mainly because he will turn 22 over a month before the opening game of the 2023/24 campaign and therefore must be registered in Arsenal's Premier League squad - as a homegrown player - if Arteta plans to integrate him into the first-team picture.

Why sale him if we need a goal scorer Jesus is not scoring enough even though he plays different and he plays well for us because he is work horse, unfortunately we need a super striker, Bologun is the new answer..... We need him at Arsenal than cashing him, whom do you want better than him? The goals speak volumes....

why Arsenal always sell their players very cheaply? This guy is far better than Pepe, and Arsenal bought Pepe over 70 million. Now, they want to sell such a young and talented striker 40 or even less. Arsenal, they need to rethink

Why do people wang Balogun sold? Why don't we convince him to stay and tell him to provide competition to win the starting spot. Afterall many internationals do sit on the bench in ManCity. Why sell a 21-goal striker whole retaining a 5-goal and 12-goal striker with 4 competitions to play next sesson.?

Arteta should convince this boy to sign new contract coz if can manage to out score big boys(goat) but he is still young Arteta pls sell Eddie or loan him and bring back balogun pls in fact he may also outscore Jesus if he gets the chance

Arsenal should try and convince Balogun to go out on loan again and this time, probably to Holland or Italy, I'm sure in another two years or thereabouts, this guy should be ready as a first team player for Arsenal. This guy along with Nketiah will be formidable players for Arsenal in about 2 or 3 seasons. i see Arsenals own Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole in these two guys.
u think a player that went out on loan bagged 21 goals is going on loan again like that makes no sense he was competing for the golden boot why would he go on loan again when he more than proved himself on loan already it’s either Arsenal give him first team football or sell him that’s what going to happen
