Alan Shearer's FA Cup misery soon turned to joy after Ian Wright's Arsenal were dumped out of the competition by Nottingham Forest, hours after his fellow pundit had teased him about Newcastle's defeat to Cambridge.
Newcastle's exit against the League One side was one of the shocks of the third round and certainly the most embarrassing from a Magpies point of view - as the lowly outfit pulled off a 1-0 win at St James' Park despite being backed by Saudi billionaires.
The stunning result was quickly pounced on by Match of the Day pundit Wright, who was responding to host Gary Lineker revelling at the prospect of a 'grumpy' Shearer in the studio.
'So @NUFC have lost at home League 1 side @CambridgeUtdFC and @alanshearer could be very grumpy tonight,' wrote Lineker - with Wright responding by posting a gif of himself hugging Shearer with the words 'I love you'.
Shearer had clearly been keeping an eye on the Arsenal score, with the Gunners kicking off later in the day and eventually succumbing to their own humiliating defeat, with Lewis Grabban netting a late winner to condemn Mikel Arteta's men to an exit against Championship opposition.
The Newcastle legend tweeted Wright with the same gif he had used, writing: 'Are you OK?'.
Wright was far from pleased with his Arsenal side's performance at the City Ground, calling it a 'very poor' showing, while singling out Eddie Nketiah for lacklustre movement up front.
'It was a very poor performance,' said Wright. 'Yes there were some young players in key positions in midfield area and didn't do a lot with the ball through the midfield.
'I thought Saka done as well as he could I thought Eddie Nketiah had a couple of chances and didn't quite take them.
'In games like this when it is this tough, you need to take those chances to settle everybody down but in the end you have to give Forest credit because the one real bit of quality you saw in the game produced the goal and it was a fantastic cross and finish.'
On Nketiah, he added: 'I thought his movement was very poor. Ally [McCoist, on commentary duty] was talking about it, there were a couple of instances when you thought if it is not quite going for you, you just need to be sharper.'
'He sees the ball all the way here [on the missed chance], I'm not sure why he got mixed up with what he's trying to do, is he going chest it, is he going to head it?
'It was one of those days when he needed to take the half-chance because the game was going to be tough for you and as a striker you need to take that half-chance.
'He had one with the header but he got it all mixed up.'

of course, but I can forget the fact that only arsenal denied me an opportunity to become a millionaire, I could have won huge amount of money I didn't add arsenal to my games, I only game them to win but they thought me a lesson

Might be a blessing in disguise for us to just focus on top 4, were not desperate for trophies at the moment. Our squard isn't great, but our best 12 is good enough Super Sub: ESR
