Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has bizarrely quoted Winston Churchill in a tweet aimed to motivate his team-mates before their Europa League clash with Slavia Prague on Thursday night.
The Gunners head to the Czech Republic with their quarter-final tie hanging in the balance after last week's 1-1 draw in the first leg at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta's side know they will face either Villarreal or Dinamo Zagreb in the semi-finals if they progress but will need to score in Prague after conceding a late away goal against the Czech side.
Ceballos, who came off the bench in stoppage time during the first encounter, has issued a rallying cry to his team-mates by tweeting a quote from Churchill, the iconic British Prime Minister who led his country to victory in World War II.
The Spaniard, who is currently on loan for a second season from Real Madrid wrote: 'Tomorrow we're going for all!
'Like Sir Winston Churchill once said: 'Blood, toil, tears and sweat'
'Let's go Gunners!'
It was a phrase used by Churchill during a speech he gave when he first met his cabinet after becoming Prime Minister in May 1940.
It remains to be seen whether it was actually Ceballos who posted the tweet, given a number of elite footballers use social media companies to manage their accounts.
Manchester City starlet Phil Foden has become the latest star to suffer the consequences of a post he did not wish to send to Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe.
Shortly after Manchester City had booked their place in the Champions League semi-finals with a win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, a picture of Foden began circulating with the words '@KMbappe are you ready?'
But the 20-year-old City star and his representatives were not happy with the tone of the tweet, as it looked almost as if he was throwing down the gauntlet to Mbappe.
He quickly asked for it to be taken down. The post had however already gained plenty of online traction and received a series of replies from online Twitter users, who questioned why Foden had appeared to immediately reach out to Mbappe.
Ceballos played 90 minutes in last weekend's win over Sheffield United but it is unclear whether or not he will start against Slavia Prague.
On Wednesday, Arteta claimed he is not fearful of Slavia Prague's impressive home record going into game.
The Czech side, who have already knocked out British rivals Rangers and Leicester this season, have not lost on home turf in all competitions for almost 18 months.
'We know it is going to be very difficult and they have been doing extremely well,' Arteta said.
'At home, they are really strong but we have been strong away as well.
'I don't want to focus too much on them, I want to focus on what we do and the task ahead of us.
'We have to do our things well to have the best possible chance to go through.'

you clearly are unware and dont know him, let me set the record straight, he was directly responsible for approx 3 million bangalis who died in 1940s in what is known as the bangal femine, which he orchestrated deliberatetly through his murdereous and racist policies .When asked about the plight of the helpless bangalis he was recorded saying as "they were beastly people with beastly religion" didnt care about an ounce .. this is one of the plethora of crimes he committed .putting him on par with Stalin and Hitler wouldn't be an exaggeration .So dont come defending such a war criminal .
Can you read?... Yes. Can u understand what u have read?... Absolutely not. I was agreeing with the post, and yes I know a lot about Winston Churchill, unfortunately, victors are not tried as war criminals, sad reality of life.
