According to the latest report from Marca, Atletico Madrid are disappointed with Alvarez and unwilling to sell him to Barcelona or Real Madrid.

It is reported that after Alvarez made his statement, "disappointment" became the most frequently expressed sentiment within Atletico Madrid. CEO Angel Gil stated in an interview that the club found Alvarez's remarks during the World Cup highly inappropriate.

The club believes that two years ago they invested significantly in developing him into a star player, and they feel he has been ungrateful, which has deeply disappointed them. Furthermore, his remarks have weakened the club's negotiating position, and the club believes his chances of remaining are slim.

Regarding potential negotiations, Atletico Madrid has no intention of dealing with Barcelona, as relations between the two clubs have deteriorated significantly. Atletico Madrid is even preparing to file a complaint with FIFA. The club is also unwilling to facilitate a move to Real Madrid, as they are direct competitors for all titles.

Another option is to sell the player to an overseas club. Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have been presented to him as possibilities for months, but Alvarez has shown no interest in either club so far.

Paris Saint-Germain's appeal has diminished despite their recent success, and his experience in the Premier League has not met his expectations.

The situation has reached an impasse, and Atletico Madrid does not rule out Alvarez escalating his efforts to force a departure. His recent remarks may be just the opening move in what could become a protracted dispute, particularly given that other players have successfully forced transfers in similar circumstances.
