I've argued this before that De Gea is not the kind of keeper you need in order with win big trophies. He's fantastic on his day but fails in critical moments and this is the same reason he has failed to be Spain number one.

How can you be the highest-paid in the team and play like an amateur when you're most needed? United needs a better goalkeeper, going forward.
