Lionel Messi's long-time Barcelona teammate Dani Alves has opened the door for him to return to Camp Nou, less than a year after he joined Paris Saint-Germain
The Argentine's decision to swap Catalunya for the French capital sent shockwaves through world football, with many assuming that his arrival would ensure PSG became unbeatable. But while their domestic season has been little more than a procession to the Ligue 1 title, their European campaign ended in familiar ignominy.
PSG were dumped out of the Champions League last week, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid, despite holding a two-goal lead going into the closing stages. Kylian Mbappe scored in either leg to put the Parisians in complete control, before Karim Benzema sparked an almighty collapse which saw him net a memorable hat-trick.
The fall-out from the infamous capitulation is likely to see Mauricio Pochettino lose his position as head coach, while a raft of departures could yet be sanctioned. Messi signed a two-year deal upon his arrival at the Parc des Princes, but it hasn't gone to plan and he was roundly booed by his own supporters last week.
During the home win over Bordeaux, Messi and fellow South American Neymar, were jeered by the home crowd, with the latter even booed following his goal. Messi cut an understandably frustrated figure, leading to some speculation he could cut his time in France short.
The 34-year-old's father and agent Jorge Messi has reportedly made contact with Barcelona to gauge whether there would be any mutual interest in bringing him back to the club. Messi left the Blaugrana as their record appearance holder and goalscorer, but was unable to sign a new contract due to LaLiga's economic regulations.
But Alves, who has played alongside Messi 349 times during their time at the Camp Nou has revealed his old pal isn't enjoying himself with his current team, claiming he is “out of place” and away from the team which allowed him to flourish to an historic extent.
“For me, no, he is not enjoying himself at PSG, because Leo makes this game special, and he does it when he is having a good time, because when he is having a good time, the others enjoy it," Alves told ESPN. “For me it is out of place, right now Leo is out of place there. Because Leo for me lived in the best place in the world to practice what he loves."
Alves made the decision to leave Barcelona in 2016, first joining Juventus, before spending time with PSG and Sao Paulo back in Brazil. But he returned to Barca late last year and has opened up on communications he held with Messi and how those words could influence another sensational comeback.
“Leo always told me, 'where are you going to be better than here?' I checked, there is no better place than here. Even when it came out that he was leaving, I sent him the same message that he told me," the Brazilian added.
“For whatever reason he is not here and I hope he can come back. I don't know, but if he comes, let him come here with me, to enjoy at least a little more of all that.
“All the people who leave here regret it, everyone. Some will say no, because they don't like to lose, but all the people who leave regret it, because it's better here than anywhere."

Don't understand people when they say that their favourites to win 😂 like it doesn't mean that they will win it or should win it, its football anyone can win favourites or not, PSG before Messi arrived where bad and bottlers that lost to uniteds youth 😂 and they still haven't changed even with the players they have now, their so use to playing in a easy league that their not committed enough to challenge for champions league and they never will cause its PSG 😂
Before Messi joined they do get to the finals or semi final so?? And you said "their so use to playing in a easy league" that easy and weak league Messi still can't perform

u must be high on weed. how can u expect someone that flopped in Farmers league to make it in EPL?
People forget Ronaldo is a ST and Messi isn't sometimes 😂 his job is too score goals and be in the right place to score the tap ins whereas Messi isn't, his job is to create play and if he went to the prem he wouldn't struggle cause Messi always slaps English clubs 😂 and he be joining City over anyone in the prem if he was to come, so that's guaranteed cups and a prem last time under pep he scored 91 goals 😂

League 1 is the weakest in top 5 Europe league. Tell yourself the truth when Messi was signed they where the favorite to win the champions league. Even Messi is disappointed with his performance, nobody saw this coming so accept the truth

if Messi played in England he would have been worse than at PSG. PSG was the best option for him given the quality of the squad. on paper PSG is the world best team so Messi was going to a comfort zone. we all know if Messi played for Manchester united it would have been a catastrophy
Not really cause he would have went to City and pep knows how to use Messi best last time he scored 91 goals in a Callander under pep 😂 not only that he'd win a prem too and be guaranteed silverware under pep and not only that everytime Messi plays a English club he slaps them silly 😂

What LM does and achieve in football cannot be achieved by any other player, Most golden boot along with most playmaker award, completely two different jobs in football as well as most BalonDor, fan should accept he is now 34, and he wasn’t physically strong and runs fast as well as shoot strong during his peak, but his talent and vision as well as accuracy made him special than others which may lack at this age. Hope he finds his form according to his age soon in PSG. I don’t care others say no one comes even close to LM in football for more than a decade he was best.

you need to wake up from this nightmare you're having. If and if and if is a set of opinions and assumptions not facts. Some people only waiting for a goal drought by top players to condemn and text embarrassing questions and comments

You're one to talk, he's the greatest to ever grace the game and has nothing to prove to anyone. 16 Years at the top and he is still expected to do everything, nobody plays at their best if their heart is not in it.
Did dey point gun on his head to sign for psg, if his not happy he should retire or stop collecting salary. His been paid to get the job done, the club is not owing him so why is he drawing back the club cus his moody

Bro its his job to do it - he is the highest paid player - to demand that wages he needs to justify - for eg if you work ok job and paid well and you say I am not happy so either they will ask you to work properly or go out

He should stay and disprove Ronaldo fans that he is capable of proving himself elsewhere too. If he returns to Barcelona, then that’s a big blow for him. The rat 🐀 😂😂

GOAT Messi didn't consider EPL teams during the crisis with Barcelona, PSG stole him too early. His father rushed him to PSG otherwise the best would've been an EPL team. In football now, English teams are the best.

Because he can only play for Barca. A GOAT that isn't flexible and versatile
Yeah, as if Barcelona didn't have 20 different teams in all his years and he carried them through thick and thin. Age might be finally catching up to him but you can watch that he is being underutilized and nobody passes the ball to him in dangerous areas, the team is built around Mbappe.

Pep knows how to use messi in his team because he’s had the experience before it would have been better than his psg career right now
he had a clear shot at Messi when he became a free agent, chose not to get him, much as he loves Messi the dude does not give a f about sentimentality when it comes to his team
