Real Madrid and Sporting CP have sent their separate messages to Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portugal captain announced the death of his twin baby boy.
Ronaldo made the tragic announcement on Monday via his Twitter handle that his son has passed away.
His former clubs, Real Madrid and Sporting CP, were quick to send their support to their former star man.
Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, were expecting twins, but while his daughter came out alive, the baby boy passed on.
Reacting, Real Madrid, in a statement via its website, said, “Real Madrid CF, its president and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death of one of the children that our beloved Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodríguez, were expecting.
“Real Madrid joins the pain of the whole family and wants to show them all our love and affection.”
Similarly, Sporting wrote on Instagram, “A lot of strength @cristiano. The Sportinguista family is with you.”

How can people be this rude. This is more than just anything concerning football. People will say they are animals. But it's about time we start realizing this is a total human behaviour. Animals even in our place wouldn't do this🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️

Cristiano is an undeniable legend of Real Madrid. His numbers in Real Madrid jersey speak for itself. He scored 450 goals in just 9 seasons and helped us to win the unsurpassable 4 UCLs in 5 seasons. CR7's sadness = Real Madrid’s sadness. Our prayers and thoughts are with you Champion! ❤️🙏
