Aberdeen's Scott McKenna has been criticised after announcing he is an ambassador for Donald Trump's golf course.
McKenna said on his Twitter account that he felt 'privileged' to be given the opportunity to take on the role at the Trump International course in Aberdeenshire.
The Scotland defender said: 'I am privileged to have been appointed club ambassador @TrumpScotland.
'A keen golfer & supporter of the property, I look forward to working with Trump International, Scotland to promote the property as a leading leisure destination. #ClubAmbassador.'
There was a colossal backlash towards McKenna after the announcement.
Roger McMonagle wrote: 'Some people have no moral standards. Money and free golf to promote a business owned by a racist bigoted misogynist.
'Where have you being burying your head Scott McKenna. Have you no shame?'
'Time for you to leave Aberdeen then as you have joined up with one of the most hated people in the world and Aberdeen,' wrote @Tannoyman.
@amaginnit added: 'Shouldn't do that. Trump is an odious individual.'
Former Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield did joke that McKenna should 'Go to the Winchester until things blow over' - a joke from comedy film Shaun of the Dead.

Aberdeen r noobs, Rangers are better. What’s the point of supporting Aberdeen the last time they won the league was 30 odd years ago

Trump is a good guy who is trying to expose the real bad people in power . The reason they hate him is that he can¿t be bought like all the past presidents.

I'm sure he's getting significant financial incentive, most hypocrites on Twitter will do worse for far less. I hate Donald trump but money comes before emotions.

Why shouldn't he ? ..just because all the farcebook brigade decide they hate Trump , doesn't mean plenty of us don't appreciate his refreshingly blunt style of leadership
